J’enseigne la géographie, les concepts et méthodes géomatiques, l’analyse spatiale et les statistiques à l’Université Jean Monnet de Saint-Etienne (France).
Je suis chercheur au Crenam, composante de l’UMR Environnement-Ville-Société du CNRS dans laquelle je co-anime l’équipe Isig (Imagerie et Système d’Information Géographique).
Mes thèmes de recherche portent sur l’usage des techniques géomatiques dans la gestion environnementale du territoire et du paysage.

Art and Cartography – Cartography and Art Symposium
1 – 2 February 2008, Vienna University of Technology, Vienna, Austria
The International Cartographic Association is forming a new working group on Art and Cartography. It proposes to foster closer collaborations between artists and cartographers. The symposium will bring-together practicing artists, architects and cartographers and those involved in research and education in the fields.
On peut définir la géonumérisation comme le processus de transcription au moyen d'outils informatiques des objets, êtres, phénomènes, activités, images, textes ... localisés sur la surface terrestre.
Ce processus est souvent perçu uniquement dans sa dimension technique. Si celle-ci ne doit pas être négligée, mon objectif ici est de mieux comprendre ses enjeux géographiques, culturels, sociaux et politiques. J'essaie d'être à l'affut de ses différentes manifestations, y compris dans des endroits parfois inattendus.
